I recently had the opportunity to work with Doane Paper, a really cool, local company on a project to launch one of their newest products – the Mountain Briefcase. It was a pretty straight forward lifestyle assignment, however the “talent”, Jeremy Collins, was leaving for an overseas trip in three days, so combining his availability with mine made for a very narrow window to shoot the project. We agreed on a 3-hour window for a “run and gun” shoot as I follow him from his studio around the Westport neighborhood with the Mountain Briefcase. This approach fit perfectly with the vibe of the Doane Paper brand and made for a really fun shoot. What I really appreciate about DP is their collaborative approach to work with like minded brands and offer complimentary products, in this case a TOPO Design bag branded for DP.
Doane Paper was started by Chad Doane, with his initial product idea addressing a rather obvious need, yet one that no one stopped to really think about – combining lined paper with grid paper. Coming from the world of engineering and architecture I had to kick myself for not thinking of this myself. To read more about his story and see all the products they offer visit Doane Paper.
A BIG thanks to our friend Gregory Kolsto of Oddly Correct Coffee for letting us invade his awesome space for some of the images and providing us with always delicious coffee.
