Crazy Week!
October 30th, 2008 adminWhat a week and it’s only Thursday. Sunday the fam decided they wanted to join me on my “wheelin” trip this weekend. Now while that is a good thing…it put into motion a list of things that needed to be done to the truck to accommodate the kiddos riding in back while in their car-seats. Now while I did install the rear seat several months ago, I slacked off and skipped over installing the seat belts – kindda important I know. Installing seat-belts would seem like an easy task – it turned into a two day ordeal requiring the usual trip to Lowe’s for some bolts, removing the rear side panels, blah blah blah. On top of that I now need to pack camping supplies to accommodate 3-additional campers. My original plan was to just sleep in the back of the Sequoia and eat Pop Tarts all weekend.
The other item that I’m slowly starting to come to grips with are the demands put on us parents now that our oldest is in Kindergarten. Now of course there is the usual homework assignment on Tuesday and Thursday nights, but this week is also “Say no to drugs” week which comes with a list of various themed items we must prepare Alex with each day. Sadly, all of this fell to the bottom of our priorities, so I’m assuming the educators at USD232 think the Braley household is pro-drugs since we failed to send Alex to school with the necessary accessories to support the “Just Say No” campaign.
Oh and don’t forget Halloween is tomorrow, which as we all know is not a one day event rather a series of sugar filled parties leading up to the Grand Finale! And I’m not just talking about kid events either, I somehow need to find time tonight to cook chili for the company “Chili Cook-Off”
And somewhere in all of that I have found time to hug my wife.
It will all be worth it as we drive down I-70 at 6:00 AM Saturday morning watching the sunrise in our rearview mirrors listening to the peaceful sounds of “CHRISTOPHER – GIVE ME THAT – MOM, CHRISTOPHER TOOK MY (insert object name here).
Ahhh, I feel better already…
